How we began
What began several years ago as an online group of long-term seekers and finders exploring how awakening can unfold between us, rather than as a solitary personal pursuit, has evolved into a wider field of shared transformation. The seeds were planted many years ago in a spiritual community dedicated to relational awakening, now finding expression in a new and reinvigorated way.
Over time, we’ve discovered how a delicate ecology of trust, authenticity, vulnerability, deep listening, and mutual presence allows something greater than any one of us to emerge: a transforming, coherent field that reveals the intelligence of the whole through the full participation of each individual.

Our Discoveries
Through this ongoing experiment, we’ve witnessed profound shifts: the emergence of collective intelligence, subtle rebalancing of gender dynamics, and often surprisingly rapid personal transformation. We believe this points to something radical: a new way of being human together, one with real power to solve the problems we can't solve alone.
The remarkable intimacy and trust that develops in these groups continues to reshape how we understand relationship itself. From this lived experience, an Ecology of Conditions has become visible: the inner and relational qualities that enable this field to appear and sustain itself.

Our Invitation
Between-Us Groups is an online community exploring shared awakening. We are seeding a constellation of self-sustaining groups forming independent nodes within a wider global network.
As these small, facilitated groups mature into independence, a shared enlightened field can become established, where trust, ease and intimacy emerge naturally. As the effort of maintaining appearance falls away, each person comes to rest more fully in themselves, while the group itself flowers and evolves. The experience is at once profound and deeply human.
In a world marked by fragmentation, these groups offer a glimpse of a new culture rooted in coherence, care, and awakened relationship.

Anne and Peter
Anne and Peter met over twenty-five years ago in an intensive spiritual community where relational practice was central. That formative experience, followed by decades of friendship, inquiry and group work, has profoundly shaped how they facilitate Between-Us today.
Both have travelled deeply through the territory of spiritual seeking and finding, testing what they were taught against their own experience and discovering a grounding, clarity, compassion and insight that now informs their work. They bring this depth together with a willingness to explore what is genuinely unknown, while holding a strong sense of responsibility for where that exploration leads.
"What is this moment capable of? What is trying to happen here? What would be lost if nobody names it? Is this the moment to cut through something?"
Their attention is given equally to the evolution of each person and to the evolution of the group as a whole. They listen closely to what is present, recognising when something needs to be challenged, supported, protected or encouraged to unfold, while knowing when to step out of the way and allow the group to discover and trust its own capacity. They meet as equals within the group, fully participating in the process alongside everyone else, while remaining attentive to what the group needs in every moment. They are not merely protecting a process; they are willing to disturb the process when the deeper possibility of the moment requires it.
Their aim is for this sensitivity and responsibility to become increasingly distributed, enabling groups ultimately to become independent and self-stewarding.
Meet Your Facilitators
Peter Mitchell
Peter has spent more than thirty years exploring awakening, consciousness and the curious business of being a human being.
His book, The Space Between Us: Awakening Together in a Fractured World, emerged from an experimental group whose unexpected unfolding opened a new direction in that exploration: what becomes possible when awakening is no longer solely an individual journey?
That experience catalysed the Between-Us work he now facilitates with Anne Sweet, exploring how we might discover deeper dimensions of being collectively, access the wisdom that can emerge between us, and realise more of our human potential by learning to participate together.
Anne Sweet
Anne is an artist, writer, speaker, and spiritual innovator whose work bridges insight and real-world transformation.
She is the creator of The End of Seeking: Demystifying the Spiritual Path and Everyday Enlightened Living, complementary works that open pathways to clarity, autonomy, and practical wisdom.
Her current focus is on nurturing the conditions for genuine transformation within the collective relational field: spaces where authenticity, curiosity, and presence give rise to new possibilities of being.
Anne brings a wealth of experience and deep insight to her work, offering a grounded and original approach to human and spiritual evolution.
